EUROPEAN BURGER SPECIALITY

This if for all the lazy university days.

Do you know these days? You don´t know what happened yesterday, you roughly know what happens tomorrow and so you just hang out and let life happen to you today. I love those days. They don´t feel stressed out but yet you managed to do a lot. You realize you just called an old friend, learned with your fellow students or had time to talk to your parents. As our Masters degree is closer to come and our intake is going to split all around the world, I highly appreciate those afternoons where we hang out, cook and talk about everything & nothing. We switch to english, to different cultures, different backrounds. But we share one thing in common that is the shared time of the moment and all differences are forgotten. I´ll miss those days.

This Burger is fuckig awesome. You don´t need to prepare no patties, you just use your favorite steak. You don´t apply the normal iceberg lettuce but Arugula salat. You will taste the difference & uniqueness of this diversified European Burger Speciality (THX to Gunnar for the creative name).

What do you do:

As always: We first marinate the Steak. Cut & mix the following together: Onions, garlic, parsley, olive oil, butter, salt & pepper, mustard & honey. Now you put the steaks in the sauce and let them in there for at least an hour (you can also them stay in the oven over night).

Now you prepare the potatoes. Cut them into slight pieces, and bake them on 250 degree for 30 minutes. Than you salt them, accord some rosemary, pepper, butter & olive oil and keep them in the ofen for 1 hour.

For the ketchup: You cut & mix tomatoes, cucumber, onions, parsley, chilli, ketchup, some salt & pepper and voilá: Your vegetable part is finished.

For the mayonnaise: You just cut the avocado and mix it with mayonnaise (you may also do it by your own but since now I never tried that out by myself I´ll need for your instructions instead).

The last what you do is preparing the steaks. I love my steak medium, nahhh, maybe even bloody, so everyone has other preferences. So fry it till you like it (ah that was a rhyme, I´m such a poet!). Shortly bevore you think it´s ready (normally 5 minutes per side) you apply the cheese on the steak so it can melt on it. Now you cut the bread, toast it and prepare both sides.

On the one side you apply the mustard & the arugula salat, on the other the mayonnaise & the vegetables. Now get the Steak out of the pan and be happy that you just finished your very own European Burger Speciality. Get the potatoes out of the oven and enjoy this Burger which ingredients all around the world.

Enjoy the Burger with your fellows, some lemonade and bring the day to a close with talking about everything that plops in your head. Enjoy these beautiful, limited moments.
